Jim Steele

Jim SteeleJim Steele is one of the most charismatic presenters in the business world today. Addressing
organisations throughout Europe, and in the United States Jim has the proven ability to deliver material that motivates, educates, inspires and entertains.

Jim Steele is fascinated by the nature of peak performance. So much so, that he has spent much of the last decade working with highly successful individuals from business and from the world of sport, seeking to understand not just what makes these people tick, but what makes them tick so much faster, stronger and longer.

Jim began his career as a life insurance salesman. However, by his own admission, his early performance was decidedly average. But when 'shadowing' one of the company's peak performers he made a discovery that would reshape his whole life. He realised there are definable strategies of mindset and behaviour that that can propel an average performer towards excellence.

He became a tireless reader, gradually piecing together his own unique take on peak performance. He cites The Success System that Never Fails by W Clement Stone and Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude by W Clement
Stone and Napoleon Hill as having been particularly influential. This first taste of personal development allowed him to achieve a breakthrough in his own performance, winning many awards including Top UK Salesman - surpassing
the company’s definition of 'Excellence' by more than 300%.

Today Jim is a director of a mindset and behavioural change organisation that works with some 300 UK companies and around 40,000 delegates a year. The company delivers bespoke training solutions along with the highly successful
"Breakthrough to peak performance" programme which Jim jointly developed.
Alongside his conference work he is also a leading Peak Performance Coach whose methodology is employed both in the commercial world and with many leading athletes and teams, including Roger Black, Manchester City FC,
Saracens Rugby Club, Northampton Rugby Club, Widnes Rugby League Club, and the British Ice Skating Federation.

He also acts as a leadership coach for senior executives at many FTSE 100 and international corporations, including Disney, BT, Goldman Sachs, Marks & Spencer and Glaxo Smith Kline.

In the conference setting he has also developed and delivered 'tandem' presentations with successful sportsmen and achievers such as Roger Black, Chris Moon and Barry McGuigan, highlighting the value of a winning - even a
World Championship winning - mindset, in a corporate environment.
Jim's passion for excellence has led him to address audiences World-wide, and his energy, insight and great sense of humour creates a massive impact whenever he in on stage.

“Thank you for the contribution you made to our sales conference last week. The event overall was an enormous success, but it was your session that the delegates remember most readily, and the philosophies you presented that they are still talking about.

We are delighted with the positive impact you have had on our teams and look forward to them delivering extraordinary results!”
GlaxoSmithKline

“As a speaker you were not only entertaining and motivating, but you also possess the ability to completely captivate your audience. Each of your strategies I can only hope to convey to my team with the same emotion and passion.”
Disney Retail

“I wanted to say thank you for your presentations at our Peak Perfomers Roadshows. The feedback we have received from all our delegates has been extremely positive and many have said it is the best Roadshow we have ever done- due in large part to your presentations. This from some of our staff is serious praise!”

Crispin Black

Crispin BlackCrispin is an independent intelligence consultant. He is retained by the BBC as an expert in terrorism and intelligence and was extensively involved in their coverage of both 7 and 21-7. He is the author of 7-7 The London Bombs - What Went Wrong? - a critical examination of the failures in intelligence and security leading up to the July 2005 bombs in which he makes suggestions for wide-ranging reform and improvement. He also writes periodically for the Independent on Sunday and appears on other TV channels from time to time including NBC, ARD, Sky and Channel 4. After the London Bombings of 2005 Jon Snow called him "One of the very best in the field."

On passing out from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Crispin started his career as a second lieutenant in the Falklands War and finished over twenty years later as a lieutenant colonel in the Cabinet Office preparing intelligence briefings for Number 10, the Joint Intelligence Committee and COBRA (Cabinet Office Briefing Room A - the government's highest level crisis response machinery) where he was on duty on the night 11-12 September 2001. In between he did three emergency tours of Northern Ireland including a stint as intelligence officer in the Republican stronghold of West Belfast. His trials and tribulations and those of his soldiers during two years on counter-terrorist operations in the early 1990s were the subject of a popular BBC documentary by Molly Dineen "In the Company of Men". He also served with the British Army of the Rhine and the United Nations Forces in Cyprus.

After graduation from the Army Staff College he specialized in intelligence and in 1996 was awarded the MBE for his role in the Defence Intelligence Staff during the crisis in Former Yugoslavia. He has degrees from both London and Cambridge - where he spent a year on a defence fellowship - and has lectured at both universities.

While in the Cabinet Office he was dispatched to advise the Macedonian government on the structure of their intelligence assessment machinery. In September this year he was asked to provide independent assessment of the UK's counter-terror capability to the Danish Parliament's Intelligence and Security Committee.

Crispin's special areas of interest and expertise are decision making and assessment in the face of uncertainty.

He is married with two small daughters and lives in London. He has one brother who is an attorney in Las Vegas.
