Oliver
is a key proponent of sustainable living and eco design. In recent years
Oliver has acted as a media spokesperson for both the Waste and Resources
Action Programme and the Energy Saving Trust. He has written green design
features for Friends of the Earth and currently writes a weekly design
column for The Observer magazine. He is also filming a new architectural
design television series for ITV.
He sees the current challenges of climate change and global warming as
an opportunity to reappraise our whole approach to design and the built
environment in a way not seen since the industrial revolution. Yet while
we need to change and reassess our effect on the environment, it needn't
mean sacrificing the comfort and convenience of modern lifestyle; instead
to meet this challenge we need to ensure future products and buildings
start out with sustainable living and eco design at the heart of the brief.
Since winning the BBC Homefront Young Designer of the Year award in 1998,
Oliver has been busy building his architecture and design business as
well as working on a variety of TV design shows including BBC Changing
Rooms, BBC Home Front and Channel 4's From House To Home.
He is also the co-founder of Ecocentric, an online store for ethical,
eco friendly products. Oliver says:
"As a designer I feel it's important to try to put environmental
thought into everything I do. Before now this has often meant having to
compromise my sense of style, something I found very frustrating. Speaking
to friends and colleagues I realised I wasn't the only one. I really believe
there are a growing number of people who are trying to live a more sustainable
life but who are struggling to find the kind of stylish, quality products
they want. Fortunately, there is now a whole new generation of designers
and manufacturers creating beautiful products that are environmentally
and ethically sound. At EcoCentric we have chosen the very best of these
and brought them together under one roof. Now it's much easier for ethically
minded people who care about the kinds of products they buy to have the
best of both worlds - beautiful stylish design and sustainability."
Oliver is available for speaking engagements on sustainable living and
eco design.

"Many people commented on how they had enjoyed your speech as
well as chatting with you after the ceremony. Having someone such as you
attending our event makes the occasion extra special, for not only our
winners and their guests, but also for the staff who worked hard to bring
the evening together."

Twenty-five
years ago, Rory Bremner performed his first public impression. Nine years
later, he starred in his first BBC series "Now For Something Else".
Today, he is widely rated as Britain's sharpest impressionist - a one-man
opposition party - with his weekly Channel Four show "Bremner, Bird
& Fortune" (Vera Prods) and seasonal 'specials', regularly winning
awards as the best satire on television. He 'does' over 100 people, from
Tony Blair to Mohamed al Fayed.
Rory's appeared in countless comedy shows from "Have I Got News
For You" (HatTrick Prods for BBC TV) to "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
and has been interviewed more than any other performer by both "Wogan"
and "Parkinson". Rory has recently lent his voice to "This
is Craig Brown" for Radio 4 and tested his driving prowess on BBC2's
"Top Gear".
Rory appeared regularly on "Breakfast With Frost" (BBC TV),
has written and performed the BBC radio series "Some of our Pilots
Are Missing" and writes articles and diaries for numerous publications.
He has also translated two operas: Kurt Weill's "Der Silbersee"
and George Bizet's "Carmen", the latter for a cast recruited
from South African townships who promptly translated the dialogue into
Xhosa so Rory can't understand it!
Rory and The 2 Johns enjoyed their first ever West End appearance together
during Autumn 2002, at the Albery Theatre, with "Beware of Imitations".
Rory continues to be in great demand for corporate cabaret and awards
ceremonies.
'Rory exceeded our/the clients' expectations in all regards and they're
now his biggest fans!'
Rory spoke and hosted an awards ceremony for RBS in Ireland - Jan 2007
