4 Poofs and a Piano

4 Poofs and a Piano4 Poofs and a Piano are best known as the in-house band on BBC1's hugely successful BAFTA Award winning Friday Night With Jonathan Ross. For the past seven series they have helped introduce guests including Madonna, Paul McCartney, Paul Newman, David Bowie, Quentin Tarrantino and Robbie Williams.

They first performed at Soho's Groucho Club in 2000 and have continued to create, write & perform their own full length shows - their 2005 National Tour Never Mind The Botox played to sell out audiences and their most recent show, Strictly Neurotic, was a hit at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival.

Jeremy VineJeremy Vine

Jeremy Vine presents the new series of Panorama on BBC1 at 8:30 on Monday evenings.

He combines this role with his programme on BBC Radio 2, The Jeremy Vine Show for which he was awarded a Silver Sony Speech Broadcaster of the Year Award 2006.

On television he has just taken over the Swingometer for all BBC specials and coverage for General Elections, By-Elections, Referenda, European Elections and US Elections. A role previously held by Peter Snow who took the swingometer, one of the classic props of British political broadcasting, from being a pendulum in the studio to a highly computerised diagnostic graphic.

Jeremy hosted The Politics Show on BBC1 and two series of interviews - the first with pop stars, the second with actors - entitled Jeremy Vine Meets….again for BBC1. Jeremy hosted Page Turners, a daytime book club programme for BBC 1. Formerly he presented Newsnight on BBC 1 and was the BBC’s Political Correspondent based at Millbank. Prior to that, he was their African Correspondent based in Johannesburg.

During his time at Durham University Jeremy studied English and presented on Metro Radio in the middle of the night. His career in journalism began with a traineeship at the Coventry Evening Telegraph. He supports Chelsea Football Club, avidly and is a popular choice on the corporate circuit.

Sandi Toksvig

Sandi Toksvig is the chair of Radio 4's newsquiz and also presents the weekly travel show "Excess Baggage" on Saturday mornings.

The daughter of a foreign correspondent, Sandi has been travelling all her life. She grew up in Europe, Africa and America, at one point the family gave their permanent address as care of the Samsonite company.

She has now settled in the UK which she has sailed around with John McCarthy and toured throughout with many shows. She has also canoed across Africa and explored other distant parts for the BBC. She has just completed travel filming for BBC ONE's Holiday programme in Palm Springs and Majorca and is about to set off to cover parts of California, Washington State and southern Spain.

In between, she writes. She has published many children's books (she was a script writer for Saturday Kids show No 73 in the 80s and was a regular contributor), two adult novels and The Gladys Society, an American travel book in which Sandi tracks down eleven girls she was close to in her New York High School days.

Her dry wit, and satirical yet not cynical manner make her a popular choice for after dinner engagements and event hosting.

"Brilliant choice, we'll be using her again"
Sandi spoke at the First Women Awards in October 2007

"Sandi was simply brilliantly..what more can I say"
