Alastair Campbell

Alistair CampbellAlastair read modern languages at Cambridge but made money by writing pornographic stories for the men's magazine Forum before entering journalism.

By the age of 29 he had moved a long way from his roots as the son of a Pennine vet to become the news editor of a newspaper called Today but the publication's launch faltered and the experience led him to a nervous breakdown.
Campbell is said to have come out of the experience less brash, more disciplined and even more driven in his career. Around the same time he gave up alcohol - a step believed by many to give him the advantage of a clear head 24 hours a day to deal with the media.

He soon became political editor of the Daily Mirror. During this time he was also one of then Labour leader Neil Kinnock's closest advisers. It was from that post which Mr Campbell resigned to become spokesman for Tony Blair, then leader of the opposition. With the Labour election victory in 1997, he became the prime minister's chief press secretary, setting up a formidable Whitehall machine to put over the government's views and try to control the news agenda.

In 2000 Mr Campbell gave up daily briefings to Westminster lobby journalists to concentrate more on long-term strategy. It was a move prompted by the fear that he, rather than his boss, was becoming the focus of media stories.
In 2003 in resigned from this post and underwent a national theatre tour "An evening with Alastair Campbell" and is in much demand on the corporate circuit as commentator and speaker.

Roger Nierenberg

Roger NierenbergAfter a distinguished career at the helm of two American orchestras, Roger Nierenberg emerged as a creative force for innovation in the presentation of symphonic music. For 14 years, he led the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in Florida, where he succeeded in building one of the great concert halls in America securing a prestigious invitation to the Carnegie Hall Series of Great Visiting Orchestras. During his lengthy tenure with the Stamford Symphony the orchestra developed a reputation as one of the finest in New England. Nierenberg has guest conducted many of America's most distinguished orchestras and opera companies, has performed at some of the world's most prestigious music festivals, and has recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra on Sony Classical Records. His much highly successful collaboration with outstanding guest artists and composers has won high praise.

Nierenberg has also created the highly successful experiential learning event, called The MUSIC PARADIGM, in which an orchestra is used as a metaphor for any dynamic organization. With executives seated among musicians, Nierenberg leads a series of exercises, carefully crafted to address the sponsoring organization's specific issues. The MUSIC PARADIGM provides a creative framework for rethinking leadership style, philosophies, and effectiveness. Since its inception in 1995, MUSIC PARADIGM sessions have been held for many major companies, leading financial institutions, and global consulting firms through the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It has been the subject of reports on ABC, CBS, CNN, and PBS and was the sole feature of an hour-long broadcast of the BBC's Money Programme.

Roger is a regular visitor to the UK and can provide a highly stimulating addition to conference and corporate events.
