Ian St John

Ian St JohnIan St John became one of Britain's best-known faces on television. A former footballer, he played most of his career with Liverpool Football Club under the managership of the legendary Bill Shankly. He also played for Scotland on 21 occasions, scoring 9 goals. One of his most famous appearances for Scotland was against England at Wembley in 1963 when England beat Scotland 9 - 3. The Scotland team that day included the likes of Denis Law and Dave Mackay.

Ian has won three League Championships at Liverpool, plus one FA Cup and one Cup Winners Cup. He also holds the record for scoring the fastest hat-trick ever in football - in two and a half minutes!

In 1973 he moved into management with Motherwell and went on to manage Portsmouth in 1975. Ian worked with Jack Charlton in 1978 at Sheffield Wednesday, and it was in this year that he started at LWT. He began with "On The Ball" and in 1984 joined Jimmy Greaves for the famous "Saint and Greavsie Show" which was to last for nearly ten years before going on to present " Sport in Question" on Carlton again with Greavsie.

A likeable character, when Ian is not broadcasting he spends much of his time on the golf course and is a highly successful after dinner speaker.

"Ian was fantastic...He made sure that every interview was well packaged and certainly endeared himself to the client with his support for the campaign...a big thank you to Ian for his time today and to you for arranging it all."
Ian took part in a radio morning for EDF Energy to launch their sponsorship of ITV's World Cup coverage - June 2006
