Fiona
Foster started in local radio in 1985 at BBC Radio Oxford before moving
on to work at BBC Radio Nottingham, Capital Radio and to co-present the
Breakfast Show for GLR in London.
In 1989 Fiona got her first job in television as the co-anchor for BBC1's
Breakfast News and Business Breakfast where she stayed for three years.
During this time Fiona also presented Business Matters on BBC2, The Blenheim
Horse Trials for Channel 4 and did frequent stints anchoring CNBC's London
business programme.
In 1992 Fiona became the video reporter following the emergency services
for BBC1's 999 and reported regularly for BBC's Holiday.
During the years of 1993-1996 Fiona co-anchored Carlton Television's
London Tonight as well as ITV's prime-time show Missing. She presented
Crime Monthly for LWT and reported live from Scotland Yard for ITN's Police
Action Live. She was also a guest presenter for ITV's current affairs
show 3D.
In 1996 Fiona moved to Atlanta for 3 years to work for CNN as the anchor
on World News. Here she covered numerous breaking news stories and live
events, ranging from the death of Princess Diana and NATO's entry into
Kosovo to President Clinton's trip to China and the signing of the UN/Iraq
peace deal.
Upon returning to the UK in 1999 it wasn't long before Fiona landed her
current position with Granada television as a reporter on Tonight With
Trevor McDonald, covering stories ranging from Sarah's Law, accompanying
the Payne family to the US to see how anti-paedophile laws work there,
to the story of Jane Blackman as she travelled to Japan to bring home
her murdered daughter Lucy, to the rise of Eminem with an exclusive interview
with his mum.
Fiona was born in Yorkshire and she has a degree in Russian and French.
She loves sport, especially golf and tennis and is keen on films. Fiona
is married with two children.

David
Gunson was born in Sheffield. He originally trained to be a metallurgist
before changing direction slightly to join the RAF.
David flew for twelve years in the Royal Air Force doing Search and Rescue
and anti-submarine work. He was an air traffic controller at Birmingham
Airport for 22 years, until he retired in 1992.
David is a Yorkshireman whose interests include cricket and rugby. He
lives in a leafy suburb of Solihull with his wife Doreen and children.
David's speech, entitled "What goes up doesn't necessarily come
down" draws on his wide experience of near misses and narrowly averted
disasters, with his tongue firmly in his cheek!

Kate
Silverton is a popular and versatile member of the BBC News presenting
team. She currently fronts the corporations' new 90 second news briefing
on BBC1, and will shortly be anchoring the One O'Clock bulletin. Prior
to this she was a regular face on Breakfast and News24.
She is an experienced journalist who has covered major assignments both
at home and abroad. In 2007 she won plaudits for her reporting from Iraq
which included live rolling coverage following the demolition of the infamous
Jamiyat prison.
She also reports regularly for Panorama. She has also presented a prime
time BBC 1 programme "Ultimate Wild Water" in which she overcame
a fear of open water to tackle some of the most notorious waters in Britain
by Kayak.
Kate began work as a corporate financier in the City before changing
direction to work in the media. She trained as a broadcast journalist
with the BBC in Newcastle.
Before joining BBC TV News Kate also worked for Five, Sky TV and BBC
Radio Five Live where she hosted the weekend Breakfast show with Brian
Alexander.
Kate graduated from the University of Durham with a BSc in Psychology.
She also studied Arabic and Middle Eastern history.
She is a popular presenter and host at corporate events, with recent
clients including RBS and BT Openreach for whom she interviewed Charles
Dunstone, CEO of Carphone Warehouse.
